HDB Painting Services in Singapore

01

Whole-flat repainting for 3-room, 4-room, 5-room and executive flats — planned around your family and finished without mess.

Built for HDB living

Why does HDB painting need a different approach?

Singapore flats work hard. Kitchen walls collect grease film, bathroom walls stay damp for hours a day, and high-traffic corridors pick up scuffs from daily life. A repaint that lasts starts by treating those conditions — degreasing and sealing where needed, treating mould-prone corners, and choosing washable, low-odour paints suited to an occupied home.

City Painters handles the full flat: ceilings, walls, doors, door frames, gates and grilles. Furniture is shifted and covered, floors are protected, and the team tidies up at the end of every session so your home stays liveable throughout the job.

Scope of work

What our HDB painting packages include.

Every quotation follows a look at your flat's actual wall condition — no surprises added on painting day.

01

Whole-Flat Packages

One clear scope for the entire flat, sized to your layout — from 3-room to executive. Same-colour refresh or a full colour change, with preparation, protection and cleanup included.

  • 3-room, 4-room, 5-room & executive
  • Same-colour refresh or new palette
  • Prep, protection & cleanup included
02

Ceilings & Walls

Water marks, hairline cracks and patchy old paint are treated before any colour goes on, so ceilings stay bright and walls read as one even surface.

  • Stain-blocking for water marks
  • Hairline crack filling
  • Washable low-odour emulsions
03

Doors, Frames, Gates & Grilles

Timber doors and frames are finished in hard-wearing enamel; metal gates and window grilles are de-rusted, primed and coated so they stay presentable for years.

  • Enamel finishes for doors & frames
  • Rust treatment for gates & grilles
  • Brush or spray application
04

Kitchens & Bathrooms

The two hardest rooms in any flat. Surfaces are degreased and washed before painting, and finished with moisture-tolerant, scrubbable systems that stand up to daily use.

  • Grease-cut washing before painting
  • Anti-mould paint systems
  • Moisture-tolerant finishes
05

Mould & Stain Treatment

Persistent black spots and damp patches are checked for their cause, treated and sealed — not just painted over — so the problem does not return with the humidity.

  • Cause checked before covering
  • Treated, sealed, then repainted
  • Pairs with mould remediation
06

Colour & Finish Guidance

Unsure between white families or accent tones? We advise on colours and sheens room by room, based on light, furniture and how each space is used.

  • On-site colour advice
  • Sheen selection by room
  • Test patches on request

Occupied homes

Living in your home while we paint it.

Most HDB repaints happen around families, work-from-home setups and daily routines. The job is sequenced so bedrooms are back in use by night, and shared spaces are never all out of action at once.

  • Furniture shifted, covered and returned
  • Floors, switches & fittings masked
  • Room-by-room schedule agreed up front
  • Daily tidy-up before the team leaves

Paint systems

The paint systems we use in HDB flats.

Different rooms punish paint differently. Each surface gets a system chosen for how that room is actually used.

Living & bedroom wallsWashable, low-odour interior emulsionScuffs and marks wipe off; rooms are back in use the same day.
Kitchens & bathroomsAnti-mould, moisture-tolerant systemStands up to grease, steam and condensation without early peeling.
Doors & framesUndercoat + interior enamelA hard, cleanable film that takes daily knocks on timber.
Gates & grillesRust treatment + metal primer + enamelStops rust creeping back through the new finish.

FAQ

HDB painting questions, answered.

The questions homeowners ask us most before booking a whole-flat repaint.

How much does it cost to paint an HDB flat in Singapore?

It depends on the flat size, wall condition and whether ceilings, doors, gates and grilles are included. Whole-flat repaints are quoted as one fixed price after a short assessment, so there are no surprises later. WhatsApp +65 8972 2172 with your flat type for a fast quote.

How long does it take to paint a 3-room, 4-room or 5-room flat?

Most whole-flat repaints take one to three days. The exact schedule depends on flat size, wall condition and whether you are changing colours — dark-to-light changes need extra coats. We confirm the number of days in the quotation.

Do we need to move out while the flat is painted?

No. We paint room by room, shift and cover furniture as we go, and use low-odour paints, so the flat stays liveable throughout. Bedrooms are scheduled so they are ready to sleep in the same night.

Do you paint ceilings, doors, gates and window grilles too?

Yes. Ceilings, walls, doors, door frames, metal gates and window grilles can all be included in one package — most customers take the full scope so the whole flat matches.

Can you fix mouldy or water-stained walls before painting?

Yes. Mould is treated and stains are sealed with a stain-blocking primer before repainting. If the ceiling or wall has peeling concrete or exposed steel, we carry out spalling concrete repair first so the new paint has a sound base.

Can I choose any colour for my HDB walls?

Inside the flat, yes — any interior colour is fine. Surfaces facing the common corridor or the building exterior follow the estate's colour scheme, and we will advise you on those during the assessment.

Do you paint new BTO flats?

Yes. New BTO walls usually need only light preparation and two finish coats, or a sealer first where the developer's coating is chalky. Many owners book us right after key collection, before furniture arrives, for the fastest and cleanest result.
