A two-part epoxy resin floor coating with metallic pigments mixed in. It is poured, spread and hand-worked on site, so the pigments move and settle into marble, pearl and swirl patterns before it cures into a seamless, high-gloss surface. Because the pattern forms as the resin flows, every floor is one of a kind — the same colours never come out twice.

Yes, and that is the main reason people choose it. As long as the tiles are sound and firmly bonded, we clean and degrease them, abrade the glaze so the resin can grip, fill the grout lines and prime, then pour the metallic system on top. There is no hacking, no rubble and far less noise and dust than re-tiling. Hollow or loose tiles are fixed first — a coating cannot hold onto a tile that is not holding onto the floor.

A typical toilet or kitchen floor is usually a two-to-three-day job including curing time; larger areas are scheduled on their own programme. The floor can normally take light foot traffic the next day, with a longer period before heavy furniture, standing water and everyday use. The finish is high-gloss, so on a wet surface it can be — which is why we specify an anti-slip additive in the clear topcoat for toilets, bathrooms, kitchens and any area that gets wet. The floor keeps its shine and gains grip. For dry living areas the standard topcoat is fine.

Epoxy on its own can amber under strong sunlight, so for balconies and rooms that get direct sun we finish with a UV-resistant clear topcoat. That topcoat is also the wear layer: it takes the scratches so the metallic layer underneath does not. Peeling is a preparation failure, not a product one — it happens when a coating goes over dust, grease or a damp or hollow substrate, which is exactly what our preparation stage exists to prevent.

Sweep or vacuum grit, then mop with water and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh acids, scouring pads and dragging heavy furniture without pads. Treated this way the surface stays glossy for years, and a worn topcoat can be lightly abraded and recoated without redoing the metallic layer.

It depends on floor area, the condition of the existing tiles or concrete, how much repair and preparation is needed, the design — a single metallic tone costs less than a multi-colour marble effect — and the topcoat specified. We do not publish a flat rate because those factors move the price a lot between two rooms of the same size.
