Why do roofs in Singapore fade and rust so quickly?
A roof here endures more abuse than any other surface on the building—UV abuse all day (near-equatorial), heavy downpour abuse, salt-laden air near the coast, daily heat cycle abuse of each sheet and tile. Chalking and fading of coatings, corrosion of metal at fasteners and lap joints, and moss and algae growth on the shaded side. When the coating fails, the underlying material begins to weather immediately.
Roof painting puts that protective layer back. We clean the roof properly, treat rust and repair surface, prime with the substrate and then apply a UV and weather resistant roofing system with a heat-reflective finish where required to make the rooms below more comfortable. The roof appears rejuvenated and, most importantly, protected once again.

Our 6-step process
How we paint a roof so the coating lasts.
All stages have a job. If you don't clean or treat for rust, the new coat starts to come off in a season, no matter how good the paint is.
Cleaning & Moss Removal
The roof is cleaned of dirt, moss, algae and chalking and any loose or failed coating. The lifespan of the entire job is determined by this stage since paint only lasts as long as the surface it clings to.
Rust Treatment & Surface Repair
Corroded metal is removed and restored to good condition, loose fastenings are addressed, hairline cracks and open joints in concrete or tile are repaired prior to coating.
Priming
Use the correct primer for the substrate (metal, concrete or tile) to ensure proper adhesion of the finish and prevent lifting, blistering or peeling a season later.
Protective Colour Coat
The roof coating is applied evenly with the specified film build and worked into the profile of the sheet or tile so that the entire surface is covered and not just the flat faces.
Heat-Reflective Finish & Handover
A heat-reflective finish coat is applied, if desired, and a UV- and weather-resistant finish coat is applied. We remove, inspect and hand back a clean and refreshed roof to you.

The honest bit
Roof painting is not waterproofing.
A roof coating shields the roof surface from the sun, rain and heat. It is not waterproofing membrane and will not prevent water which has already infiltrated. Ceiling stains, damp spots or an ongoing leak must first be sealed by a waterproofing expert before it can be covered up with paint — which will only last for a few weeks. We don't provide waterproofing, and if at the inspection we determine that your roof does need waterproofing, we'll let you know, not sell you a coat of paint to solve the problem.

Every roof is quoted as one fixed price after a free inspection — these are the factors that move it.

FAQ
Roof painting questions, answered.
What Singapore homeowners ask us most before repainting a roof.
Will roof painting stop a leak?
No — and any contractor who says otherwise is selling you the wrong thing. A roof coating protects the surface from sun, rain and heat; it is not a waterproofing membrane and it will not seal an active leak. If water is getting in, that has to be fixed by a waterproofing specialist first. We will say so plainly at the inspection rather than paint over the problem.
How often should a roof be repainted in Singapore?
Roughly every seven to ten years for most landed-home roofs, though strong sun, heavy rain and coastal air shorten that. The honest test is the surface itself: if the colour has gone chalky and rubs off on your hand, or the coating is flaking, it has stopped protecting the roof and is due.
Do you paint metal roofs?
Yes. Metal roofs and awnings are washed, de-rusted back to sound metal, treated with an anti-corrosive primer and finished with a flexible exterior coating that copes with the way metal expands and contracts in the heat.
Can you paint over an old, chalky roof coating?
Usually, once it is properly prepared. The roof is washed down, chalk and loose material are removed, and adhesion is tested before we commit to a system. Where an old coating is failing badly it is stripped back instead — putting fresh paint on a loose one just brings the next repaint forward.
What is heat-reflective roof paint, and is it worth it?
It is a finish coat formulated to reflect more of the sun's heat instead of absorbing it into the roof. On a top-floor room or an attic under a metal roof it can make a noticeable difference to how hot the space gets. We will tell you where it is worth specifying and where it is not.
Do you paint tiled roofs?
Yes — clay and concrete tiled roofs are cleaned of moss, algae and staining, sealed where the surface is porous, and finished with a protective coating that restores the colour and helps the roof shed water and dirt.
How long does roof painting take?
Most landed-home and low-rise roofs are finished within a few days, depending on area, condition and how long each coat needs to dry. Weather decides the schedule, so we plan the coating stages around dry windows to protect the finish.
Roof painting pairs naturally with metal painting for gates, grilles and railings, and with landed property painting if you are refreshing the whole house. Damp inside the property is handled separately through mould removal and spalling concrete repair.
