Once the coating gives up, the material underneath starts weathering directly.
Roof painting puts that protective layer back. We clean the roof properly, treat rust and make good the surface, prime it for the substrate, then build up a UV- and weather-resistant coating — with a heat-reflective finish where it will make the rooms below more comfortable. The roof looks refreshed, and more importantly it is protected again.
Our 6-step process
Every stage has a job. Skip the cleaning or the rust treatment and the new coating starts lifting within a season, however good the paint was.
We check the roof type, its condition and how it can be reached safely — pitch, height, fragile sheets and anchor points. You get an honest read on what the roof actually needs, including when it needs something other than paint.
The roof is washed down and cleared of dirt, moss, algae, chalking and any loose or failed coating. Paint only lasts as long as the surface it grips, so this stage decides the life of the whole job.
Corroded metal is taken back to sound material and treated, loose fasteners are dealt with, and hairline cracks and open joints in concrete or tile are made good before any coating goes on.
The right primer for the substrate — metal, concrete or tile — is applied so the finish bonds properly and does not lift, blister or peel a season later.
The roof coating is applied evenly at the specified film build, worked into the profile of the sheet or tile so the whole surface is protected, not just the flat faces.
A UV- and weather-resistant finish coat goes on, with a heat-reflective option where it will help keep the rooms below cooler. We clear the site, walk the job with you and hand back a clean, refreshed roof.
The honest bit
A roof coating protects the surface from sun, rain and heat. It is not a waterproofing membrane, and it will not stop water that is already getting in. If you have ceiling stains, damp patches or an active leak, that needs to be sealed by a waterproofing specialist first — painting over it only hides the mark for a few weeks before it comes back. We do not offer waterproofing, and we will tell you straight at the inspection if that is what your roof actually needs, rather than sell you a coat of paint that cannot fix it.
